The UK’s tallest mountain

Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in all of the British Isles, standing at 4,412 feet (1,345 m) above sea level. Part of the Lochaber range in the Highlands, this mountain overlooks the shores of Loch Linnhe, creating spectacular scenery for the nearby town of Fort William.

The mountain hosts two well-known annual trail races, The Ben Nevis Race and Three Peaks Race, and is popular among experienced hikers and climbers. Though thousands of hikers make the trek up the summit each year, visitors are urged only to go with guided excursions due to the extremely changeable weather conditions.
