Peninsula with nature and culture
Black Isle is a peninsula situated in the north of the Highlands. That is where you can find Chanonry Point, famous for its dolphin sightings, the charming town of Cromarty, and two Royal Society for the Protection of Birds nature reserves.
North-east of the Black Isle and Inverness, you’ll find the spectacular Moray Firth. It was named one of the world’s most beautiful and unspoiled coastlines by National Geographic Traveller, and it is a sight to behold with its beautiful cliff scenery, idyllic seaside villages and large sand dunes on the southern shore.
The Moray Firth is also one of the best places in Europe to see dolphins in the wild as they are known to play by the shore. Harbour seals and otters are also a common sight.
Harbour porpoises, minke whales, pilot whales and killer whales can sometimes be seen further out in the open waters.
Another reason to visit? Moray has the reputation for having the greatest number of days of sunshine in Scotland.
