Where to buy souvenirs to take home
There’s plenty of choice when it comes to finding a keepsake from your UK adventure.
Popular souvenirs
The UK is famous for a number of things that would make great souvenirs for yourself, or gifts for loved ones back home. Harris Tweed, cashmere clothing, handmade ceramics and whisky are just a few suggestions.
The country is also home to some big names in TV and film, including Paddington Bear and Harry Potter. You’ll find memorabilia from these childhood favourites all over the country.
The UK also has their own food culture, unique from the rest of Europe. Expect to find some unusual snacks and treats to share with your friends and family back home.
For books, we recommend visiting bookstores like Waterstones for art, photography or travel books of the UK. Some of the more popular books may also be published in other languages.
When are shops open?
Most shops in the UK’s major cities and towns are open 7 days a week, with many staying open until as late as 8 or 9 PM. Opening hours tend to be reduced in rural areas.
If you forget something
Major cities and towns are packed with shops that supply cosmetics, clothing and other general items. If you’ve forgotten anything on your trip, these shops will make it easy to restock your supply.
